Concrete cutting

How to Avoid Structural Damage With Precision Concrete Cutting Services in Dubai

Concrete cutting becomes a structural risk when the proposed opening, reinforcement and removal sequence are treated separately. Precision comes from coordinating scanning, engineering, tooling, support and lifting before the first blade enters the concrete.

01

Verify the cut zone

The team should confirm the required geometry against structural and MEP information, then scan for reinforcement, post-tension systems and concealed services. A clear set-out allows the engineer to review the actual opening rather than a vague work area.

  • Reference dimensions from stable structural points
  • Scan beyond the immediate cut line
  • Confirm slab or wall thickness
  • Identify the weight and centre of gravity of cut sections
02

Support before separation

Once a cut is complete, the isolated concrete no longer contributes to the structure and may move unexpectedly. Temporary support, rigging, lifting points and the order of cuts must therefore be established in advance.

  • Do not complete the final release cut without restraint
  • Keep lifting equipment within verified capacity
  • Control water and slurry around occupied areas
  • Monitor cracking or unexpected movement during execution
03

Choose the system around the geometry

Wall saws create straight openings, floor saws deliver efficient horizontal cuts, core drills form circular penetrations and wire saws separate thick or irregular sections. Combining systems can reduce overcutting and produce a cleaner retained edge.

Project note

Guidance is the starting point. The site determines the method.

Every structure, access route and operating environment is different. Final engineering, approvals and controls should be based on verified project information and a site-specific assessment.
